Two more murders have been recorded overnight, bringing the count to 584 for the year, so far.
In the first incident, 26-year-old Michael Vincent (aka Plaits) of Carlsen Field, Chaguanas, was shot dead in Enterprise.
According to reports, just before 5:00 on Saturday evening, police received a report from the area’s residents that they were awakened by several loud explosions coming from inside a house.
Upon checking officers found Vincent laying on the ground with an injury to his stomach. His left hand was handcuffed.
Four 9mm shell casing and one 9mm projectile also were observed on the scene.
In the other incident, an unidentified man was shot dead in Williamsville, last evening.
According to reports, officers received a call about a man lying on his back on the side of the road. They found the man bleeding and gasping for breath. The victim had gunshot wounds to his face and head. He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, but he died not too long after.
Police said the victim was of mixed descent, slim built, light brown complexion, and approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall. He was wearing a polka dot shirt, blue long jeans, and white sneakers.
Investigators retrieved a cell phone, a gold chain, and money. A piece of paper bearing a man's name was found in the victim's possession.
Investigations are ongoing.
