Po­lice of­fi­cers in Port of Spain nabbed a sus­pect af­ter a road traf­fic ac­ci­dent turned in­to a chase on Sat­ur­day.

Around 1:40 pm on April 4, 2026, of­fi­cers were on du­ty near Gor­don and Fred­er­ick Streets when they re­spond­ed to a crash at New and Hen­ry Streets.

As the po­lice of­fi­cers ap­proached, two men bolt­ed from one of the ve­hi­cles.

With back­up from the Port of Spain Task Force, the of­fi­cers chased down and caught one of the sus­pects.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions re­vealed the car, a white AD wag­on, had been re­port­ed stolen just days ear­li­er on April 2nd.

The sus­pect, a 21-year-old man from Laven­tille, was tak­en to the Cen­tral Po­lice Sta­tion and re­mains in cus­tody.
