St. George's University in Grenada has advised all its students to return home for the next month as a precautionary measure to protect staff and students from COVID-19.
In a statement addressed to students and published online, the university said it was considering the possible implications of the global outbreak on its campus community.
The university said it is encouraging its students at the Grenada campus to return for home "for at least the next four weeks."
It said it arrived at the decision after working with the island's Ministry of Health and international partners, in an effort to limit exposure to the disease among students and staff.
St. George's University said its campus will remain open and will make facilities available for students who are unable to leave Grenada or choose not to.
