A cou­ple was tied up and robbed when gun­men stormed their Rousil­lac bar ear­ly Thurs­day morn­ing.

Around 12.15 am, the cou­ple was clos­ing their es­tab­lish­ment on Mon De­sir Road when two armed men en­tered and an­nounced a hold-up. Both sus­pects were dressed in dark cloth­ing. One was about six feet tall and slim built, the oth­er about five feet sev­en inch­es tall and al­so slim built.

The vic­tims were forced to lie on the ground with their hands tied be­hind their backs. The as­sailants stole a gold be­ra val­ued at $6,000, $1,800 from the cash reg­is­ter, three Sam­sung cell­phones to­geth­er val­ued at $15,000, a wal­let with per­son­al items, and a brown Nis­san Ti­i­da val­ued at $40,000.

The cou­ple man­aged to free them­selves short­ly af­ter and alert­ed po­lice from a neigh­bour’s phone. Of­fi­cers lat­er re­cov­ered the stolen car near the Grant’s Road fly­over.

CSI per­son­nel processed both the ve­hi­cle and the bar but found no work­able prints. In­ves­ti­ga­tors said en­quiries are on­go­ing.
