A couple was tied up and robbed when gunmen stormed their Rousillac bar early Thursday morning.
Around 12.15 am, the couple was closing their establishment on Mon Desir Road when two armed men entered and announced a hold-up. Both suspects were dressed in dark clothing. One was about six feet tall and slim built, the other about five feet seven inches tall and also slim built.
The victims were forced to lie on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs. The assailants stole a gold bera valued at $6,000, $1,800 from the cash register, three Samsung cellphones together valued at $15,000, a wallet with personal items, and a brown Nissan Tiida valued at $40,000.
The couple managed to free themselves shortly after and alerted police from a neighbour’s phone. Officers later recovered the stolen car near the Grant’s Road flyover.
CSI personnel processed both the vehicle and the bar but found no workable prints. Investigators said enquiries are ongoing.
