An Ari­ma pen­sion­er was found dead, dozens of miles away from his home, on the jet­ty of Kings Wharf, San Fer­nan­do, yes­ter­day. Po­lice be­lieve Isaac Gob­in, 79, of 13 Or­ange Court, San­ta Rosa Heights, Ari­ma, died while walk­ing on the jet­ty, close to the Cus­toms and Ex­cise of­fice. Res­i­dent Alexan­der Gibbs told po­lice he was walk­ing on the jet­ty around 6 am when he saw Gob­in ly­ing on his side.

The pen­sion­er's walk­ing stick and black cap were found next to his body.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve Gob­in may have suf­fered a mas­sive heart at­tack. Dr Ki­ran Nakkana Pre­mand viewed the body and or­dered it re­moved to San Fer­nan­do mor­tu­ary. Po­lice said Gob­in had a gash on his head. An au­top­sy will be done to­day. ASP Ce­cil San­tana, PCs Ja­son Daly and Fazir Sul­li­man vis­it­ed the scene and are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
