Ch­agua­nas mu­nic­i­pal po­lice are con­tin­u­ing their crack­down on drug-push­ing in the busy cen­tral bor­ough. Around 6.20 pm on Wednes­day, po­lice ar­rest­ed three men, who were act­ing sus­pi­cious­ly, in the area of the Cou­va maxi-taxi hub.

A search re­vealed that the men were in pos­ses­sion of 21 grammes of mar­i­jua­na. At near­by Eleanor Street, po­lice ar­rest­ed a man who was in pos­ses­sion of co­caine and a de­vice for smok­ing the nar­cot­ic.

The ar­rest­ed men were tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Sta­tion where charges for pos­ses­sion were laid.

The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed by In­spec­tor Lewis and po­lice con­sta­bles Charles, Ram­ba­hal, Vil­lafana, Lan­g­ley and McAl­lis­ter. Last Fri­day the mu­nic­i­pal po­lice ar­rest­ed a 21-year-old woman who had a pack­age of co­caine hid­den in her rec­tum. She was charged for traf­fick­ing, and sub­se­quent­ly plead­ed guilty when she ap­peared in court on Mon­day.
