The father of slain teenager Anthony "Jawari Zulu" Noray says he was killed because he visited family members living at Beverly Hills, Laventille. Noray, 17, of Blackett Lane, Gonzales, was shot dead by gunmen on Tuesday night. Police said Noray was liming with friends around 8.25 pm at Agostini Street, Gonzales, when he was approached by two gunmen who then shot him. He died on the spot. In an interview at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, Noray's father, Anthony Brown, said his son received death threats recently.
He added: "I heard he was threatened after he visited his cousins in Beverly Hills. They even provided an apartment for him to get out of Gonzales. "He came and packed his bags then a friend came and called him." He said he warned his son about the company he kept. He said his son was also accused of "liming" with the enemy. "I heard a man said, 'You (Noray) liming with the enemy (Beverly Hills relatives), You go dead,'" Brown said. Detectives said Noray's death was possibly gang-related. Officers of the Special Anti-Crime Unit of T&T (SAUTT) are continuing investigations.
