Po­lice of­fi­cers and sol­diers in­spect­ed 40 kilo­grammes of mar­i­jua­na dis­cov­ered in a forest­ed area in Springville, Clax­ton Bay, yes­ter­day. The drug car­ried an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $1 mil­lion. Five peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and are ex­pect­ed to be charged with drug traf­fick­ing.

Po­lice Con­sta­bles Clevon George, Safraz Ju­man, Anand Ba­hadur, Mar­tin Bal­lan­tyne, of the South­ern Di­vi­sion­al Task Force and mem­bers of the T&T De­fence Force par­tic­i­pat­ed in the ex­er­cise. The sus­pects are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Cou­va mag­is­trate on Mon­day.
