Crystal Bevin Ashe is the new president of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA), defeating incumbent Martin Lum Kin in elections held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Ashe, who represents the Secondary Schools Inspectorate (SSI), received 3,546 votes, ahead of Lum Kin’s 1,019. Randy Lall, Rajdeo Mohan, Germaine Raymond, and Anderson Zoe were also in the running.
Nigel Figaro was elected second vice-president with 4,395 votes, while Barry Joel Desaine won the position of third vice-president with 4,033.
Sue-Anne Marchan was elected general secretary, and Dillon Chad Harracksingh secured the post of treasurer.
TTUTA said the election results mark the conclusion of its 2025 national executive polls, which determined the new leadership to guide the association in the coming term.
