A delivery driver who went to drop off a $500 order for cement and other hardware items at a location in Piarco, was killed on Monday evening in what lawmen have described as a set-up.
This was after forensic officials recovered nine spent shells–some of which contained the markings of the T&T Regiment (TTR), at the scene.
Chandan Ramjit, 52, of Hydraulic Trace, Caroni, was killed around 2.20 pm.
He was shot whilst delivering goods at Queen’s Avenue, Three B’s Drive, Piarco North Bank Road.
Ramjit was reportedly confronted by three men during the delivery, one of whom was armed with a gun.
As they robbed Ramjit of cash and valuables, it is believed he fought with the men and was shot several times.
He died at the scene.
Homicide detectives are continuing enquiries.
