Enquiries are continuing into the discovery of a quantity of marijuana at the Port of Port of Spain on Monday morning.
Police said officers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the National Operations Task Force (NOTF) visited the storage point for illicit cargo at the port where they found two barrels.
In one of the barrels, police found packages containing marijuana hidden beneath clothing.
The drugs weighed an estimated 4.605 kilograms and had a street value of $400,000.
According to the release, the barrels were shipped from Fort Myers, Florida, and were awaiting clearance.
The exercise was co-odrinated by DCP Operations Suzette Martin, ACP Tactical Support Collis Hazel, with supervision from actin Supt Sanana and acting Insp Petti of the NOTF.
When Guardian Media Ltd visited the Port on Monday morning, three police vehicles were seen exiting the facility just after midday as officers completed their seizure and enquiries at the port.
No one was held in relation to the discovery.
