Dutch beauty Preetanji Rai is Miss Divali Nagar 2018.
She took home bragging rights and a $20,000 first prize on Sunday.

Rai, of Rotterdam, in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, beat a field of seven contestants, — including five foreigners and three local contestants.
Rai said she has fallen in love with doubles, the tasty street food, during her visit to T&T.
“I tasted it this morning and this is the best thing ever,” she said.

Rai, who works with mobile phone giant Samsung, is also a dance teacher and is also involved in acting and dancing in Rotterdam, where she was born to Surinamese parents.
She wants to be a role model for young women and girls who will grow up the be the next generation of women. Rai also won the talent competition with an energetic dance.
Local beauty Marina Mohan, of Gasparillo, took home the second place prize of $10,000. Mohan also won the award of Miss Photogenic.

Irianna Levia, a native of Belize, won the third prize of $7,500, she also won the award for Best Hair. Placing fourth and fifth respectively were Robin Nandlal, of Suriname, who also won the award for Best Makeup, and Marisa Beekhoo, of Suriname, who also got the award for Best Sari. The contest commenced shortly after 7 pm. The delegates performed an opening dance and gave the audience a short introduction of themselves.

After a period of entertainment and speeches from various guests and artists, the show continued with the sari modelling segment.
Finalists took the stage dressed in a sari of their choice before the dreaded question and answer segment. The winners were later announced closer to 11 pm.

The show ended on a high note with all participants leaving the competition with tokens that heralded their performance during the pageant.
