An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 rattled Port-of-Spain on Wednesday but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said that the quake occurred at around 1.33 pm (local time) and was located at Latitude: 10.63 North, Longitude: 62.77 West and at a depth of 83.5 km.
It said that the quake was felt 120 km west of Port of Spain, the Trinidad and Tobago capital as well as in the nearby cities of Carúpano, 51 km east of Venezuela and 125 Km northeast of Venezuela.
The earthquake is the second to be recorded by the SRC over a 24-hour period.
On Tuesday, a quake, with a magnitude of 5.4 was felt in Bridgetown, Barbados, Castries, St. Lucia and Fort-de-France, Martinique.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
