Residents of East Dry River say they are fed up with the crime situation in their community.
That's according to the Councillor of that electoral district Clint Baptiste who did a walkabout on Thursday afternoon.
"They have reached to the point where they are frustrated about what is happening," Baptiste said.
He said his burgesses welcome a heavier police presence and call for social intervention.
However, they believe moving the Rose Hill R.C. Primary School after students were captured ducking from rapid gunfire on Monday will not help.
"My thing is that it could be their children, it could be their brothers or sisters, it could be their nieces or nephews, cousins, neighbours because you won't get somebody from Woodbrook going to Rose Hill RC most likely you will get persons from the Laventille catchment area going there," he explained.
He said this is why social programmes are needed urgently, like the Empower initiative which he said took young boys off the street and in the classroom learning something.
But Baptiste who also lives in East Dry River said he is also concerned about the young girls in the area.
"I have noticed a lot of young ladies straying just like young boys, in the past they would have been a bit more ambitious but now they just like the young boys, they wandering through the streets, they dropping out of school" he said.
He said he has not visited the school since the incident but will do soon but said residents really can't take it anymore.
"WASA doh want to come to the area, T&TEC said they doh want to come in the area, Social workers doh want to do the visits," he said.
