Fol­low­ing on from its suc­cess­ful Christ­mas con­cert se­ries, “Parang on the Pavers, the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion is an­nounc­ing an­oth­er se­ries—this time for Car­ni­val 2024—which starts to­mor­row, Fri­day, Jan­u­ary 12.

The “Car­ni­val on the Pavers” se­ries of con­certs will fea­ture stu­dent per­for­mances once week­ly (on Fri­days), from noon to 1:00 pm. The fi­nale will be on Fri­day 2 Feb­ru­ary 2024.

“The ‘Pavers Con­cert Se­ries’ is an op­por­tu­ni­ty to give demon­strat­ed ef­fect of one el­e­ment of the MOE’s Cul­tur­al Trans­for­ma­tion Pol­i­cy and pro­vides stu­dents with an op­por­tu­ni­ty to gain con­fi­dence in their stage pres­ence and pro­file their tal­ents,” the Min­istry said in a news re­lease.

“Car­ni­val on the Pavers” will fea­ture pri­ma­ry and sec­ondary school stu­dents per­form­ing and dis­play­ing var­i­ous art­forms such as so­ca, chut­ney, tas­sa, steel­band and tra­di­tion­al mas, among oth­ers.

Like the Parang edi­tion, the Car­ni­val edi­tion of the Pavers Con­cert Se­ries will be held on the plaza/pavers at the Ed­u­ca­tion Tow­ers on St. Vin­cent Street in Port of Spain.
