Several senior citizens received special attention from the Chaguanas Borough Corporation on Saturda as part of the observance of Indian Arrival Day 2020. They were presented with hampers, sweets and seedlings.

Chaguanas Mayor Vandana Mohit and councillors visited the elderly at their homes to present them with the special gifts.

She said it was imperative that everyone, regardless of their heritage, remember the role of our ancestors in nation building.

"Our forefathers played a pivotal role in shaping and developing society at a time when mankind's technological development was limited and not as complex as today,” she said.

“Despite the many changes society is going through, it is always important that we continue to recognize their contributions."
