The Election Statistics slate has won all six elected seats on the Pharmacy Board of Trinidad and Tobago council, in the February 22 election at the Professional Centre, Woodbrook.
Sanjay Mohammed, former secretary/treasurer, led the poll with 343 votes, followed by former president Ricardo Mohammed, former president, with 337. Rounding out the top six elected persons are Joanne Calamba Cainto, 291; Jayakrishnan Sreekumar, 280; Clinton Sahadeo, 204; and Shaquille Katwaroo, 182.
Together with two doctors and two pharmacists appointed by the Health Minister, they will form the ten-member council.
Council members will now vote to select the president, vice-president, and secretary.
A total of 2,861 votes were cast, with an average of 5.56 votes per ballot, the maximum permitted being six.
Ricardo Mohammed said the 2026 election recorded one of the largest turnouts among the membership. Voting ended at 2 am on Monday morning. He said the turnout showed growing interest in the board’s affairs.
Longstanding president Andrew Rahaman, who filed nomination papers to contest the election, was not returned by the membership after years without audits and AGM reports.
Sanjay Mohammed said that for the first time in years, audited books were presented at the AGM.
