Employee chops boss at Rio Claro workplace

Po­lice ar­rest­ed a 24-year-old sus­pect who al­leged­ly at­tacked his em­ploy­er while at his work­place in Rio Claro.

In a TTPS re­lease yes­ter­day, the po­lice said at 11 am on Sun­day, a pro­pri­etor was seat­ed on a chair in his of­fice at his busi­ness place when one of his em­ploy­ees en­tered and be­gan at­tack­ing him with a cut­lass.

The busi­ness own­er, po­lice were told, sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries to the back of his neck and his left hand.

The sus­pect then ran off.

Neigh­bours as­sist­ed the in­jured pro­pri­etor, who was tak­en for med­ical treat­ment at a health fa­cil­i­ty and lat­er dis­charged.

A re­port was lat­er made at the Rio Claro Po­lice Sta­tion and an in­ves­ti­ga­tion was im­me­di­ate­ly launched, which re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of a 24-year-old sus­pect from Rio Claro and the seizure of a weapon be­lieved to have been used in the al­leged as­sault.

PC Bil­ly is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
