A 27-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Candace Honore, whose body was found on July 17 stuffed in a suitcase in a pond in Valencia.
A release from the TTPS yesterday stated that Michael Moore, also called Tall Man and Fully Fully, a construction labourer, of Sangre Grande, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Rehanna Hosein, at the High Court North ‘B’ yesterday.
Police said the Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for January 27, 2026.
Honore, 22, of Manzanilla, was found dead after being reported missing to the officers of the Manzanilla Police Station on July 11. A male suspect, said to be an ex-boyfriend, was arrested in connection with the case by PC Hosten, of the Homicide Intelligence Unit, at the office of an attorney in the Sangre Grande district, on July 20. Investigations were supervised by acting ASP Victor, W/Insp Sylvester, Sgt Ramoutar, Sgt Radhaykissoon and PC Subiah, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two.
Moore was charged with the offence by WPC La Fortune-Salina, following advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard on Wednesday.
