Friday night limers had their enjoyment disrupted hours ago when a gunman sprayed bullets on the Naughty Girls Bar in Marabella, killing ex-convict Shazard Abdool.
It was reported that Abdool, 33, of Marabella died on the scene within minutes of being shot. His two sisters and brother-in-law were also wounded. They were all taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where they were undergoing emergency treatment.
Investigators were still at the scene trying to gather the details up to moments ago.
So far, they have said that Abdool and his family were liming at the bar along Battoo Avenue when a gunman walked into the entrance of the bar with an automatic firearm. The gunman then began firing on the victims, sending other patrons scampering for cover. When he was finished, the gunman got into a silver Nissan AD Wagon and escaped.
Marabella police, San Fernando CID Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three and the Southern Division Task Force responded and a search was being carried out for the suspect and the car. Crime scene investigators recovered a significant amount of bullets casing from the scene.
Investigators believe Abdool was the target while his relatives were just caught on the gunfire. They said Abdool was released from prison back in August after a five-year sentence for firearm-related offences. They said he was a known drug and firearm offender.
