Two men were arrested in Tobago on Wednesday night for possession of a quantity of marijuana as they disembarked the T&T Spirit. The marijuana’s estimated street value was over $250,000.
According to reports, Task Force officers under the supervision of Ag Sgt Yorke made the arrests during an anti-crime exercise on the Scarborough Port between 7.30 pm and 9.15 pm.
A 24-year-old man of Store Bay Local Road, Crown Point, was held with 20 packets of compressed marijuana stored in buckets in a vehicle. Police also arrested a 24-year-old street vendor from Darrel Spring, Scarborough, for possession of 127 grams of marijuana worth $30,000 found hidden in a pumpkin among other produce.
Both men are scheduled to appear before a Scarborough Magistrate today.
