Jack Warn­er has re­port­ed­ly claimed he was the sec­ond Fi­fa vot­er for Eng­land's 2018 World Cup� bid. The UK Sun­day Mir­ror says Warn­er has told his clos­est as­so­ciates that he vot­ed for Eng­land in the 2018� World Cup bal­lot. Six mem­bers of the Fi­fa ex­ec­u­tive pledged their sup­port. On­ly one of them, plus Eng­land del­e­gate Ge­off Thomp­son, ac­tu­al­ly de­liv­ered the goods.

Warn­er has been cit­ed as a trai­tor to the Eng­land cause, but soon af­ter Thurs­day's vote he told a close friend: "Every­thing Eng­land did was bril­liant. Their pre­sen­ta­tion was great, the trib­al­foot­ball.com site stat­ed. "I vot­ed for them in that open­ing round. Ge­off Thomp­son is a good friend. I ho­n­oured my promise un­til Eng­land went out."
