Four men were arrested in the South Western Division on Monday, following a report of shooting with intent and possession of firearm and ammunition.
A female victim reported to police that she was at her South Oropouche home around 7:35 pm, on Monday when she observed three men outside her premises. She alleged the men entered the compound and one of them pointed a gun in her direction. The victim then heard a loud explosion and the suspects fled the scene.
A report was made to the police and officers of the Oropouche
Criminal Investigations Department. Four male suspects were held a short time later in a Toyota Rav 4.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of one Taurus pistol loaded with a magazine containing six rounds of ammunition.
The men, a 28-year-old of Port-of-Spain, a 32-year-old of Laventille, a 34-year-old of Morvant and a 45-year-old of La Brea, were arrested in connection with the incident and the find.
In the Eastern Division, Task Force officers conducted an operation in the Toco district between 11:50 am and 1:30 pm on Monday.
During the exercise, officers arrested a 25-year-old man for possession of a homemade shotgun and four 12 gauge cartridges and a 20-year-old man for the possession of camouflage clothing.
