An Arima man was shot and another arrested after a shooting with gel blasters ended with actual gunplay on New Year’s Day, police said.
Police said the man was on the corner of Printeryville and Second Street in Arima at 3.40 pm when he fired a gel blaster at a group of people nearby.
The man then reported feeling a burning sensation on his arm and realised he was shot before running away.
He was taken to hospital by passers by.
Arima Police visited the scene and found ten spent 9 mm shell casings.
Later that afternoon, officers of the Northern Division Task Force arrested a suspect in the shooting.
Officers of the Arima CID are continuing enquiries.
