Thai­land and T&T are mov­ing to es­tab­lish hon­orary con­sulates in their re­spec­tive coun­tries. This was one of sev­er­al is­sues dis­cussed be­tween For­eign Af­fairs Min­is­ter Paula Gopee-Scoon and Thai­land's Am­bas­sador Snan­chart dur­ing his farewell vis­it to Gopee-Scoon ear­li­er this month.

A re­lease is­sued by the min­istry stat­ed that the two al­so dis­cussed the pos­si­ble im­pact the glob­al fi­nan­cial cri­sis was like­ly to have on the economies of their re­spec­tive na­tions.

They al­so dis­cussed the pos­si­bil­i­ty of co-op­er­a­tion in such ar­eas like agri­cul­ture, hand­i­craft, pot­tery, wood­work, fur­ni­ture and low-cost hous­ing.

Diplo­mat­ic re­la­tions be­tween Thai­land and T&T were es­tab­lished in Jan­u­ary 1986.
