The La Horquetta Health Centre offers services like family planning, immunisation, post-natal, chronic diseases and dressings to the general public. It is located on Arthur Murray Crescent, Phase 3, La Horquetta, Arima.
On Wednesday, nurse Edlin Charles joined the other staff members in welcoming the opening of the dental clinic at the facility. It returned to the facility after a seven-year absence. Parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Health Wesley George and chief executive officer of the North Central Regional Health Authority Carolyn Washington-Aigle declared the facility open.
Among those present were St George East Country Medical Officer Dr Indarjit Birjah. At Wednesday's ceremony, Charles said: "It is good the clinic has come back here. It went to Arima. People have been asking for it." Dental nurse Olga Ann-Mayard, assistant nurse Marsha Dottin-Julien and Dr Elizabeth Preyam will oversee the clinic's operations. The clinic will serve people from La Horquetta, Malabar, Tumpuna Road, Brazil, San Rafael and Talparo.
