Ian Brunton is the new Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Airlines Ltd (CAL). His appointment takes effect from October 15.
Arthur Lok Jack, chairman of the CAL Board, made the announcement yesterday. Brunton takes over from Philip Saunders, who gave notice six months ago of his intention to resign his position to return to the United Kingdom. Brunton started his aviation career about 47 years ago in the British Royal Air Force.
He has held senior positions in the State Safety Oversight system. He was the first chairman of the T&T Civil Aviation Authority.
Brunton has been the executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Caribbean Airlines since the airline's inception in January 2007. He is a qualified attorney, having attained Bachelor and Master of Laws degrees from the University of London. Brunton is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a former board member of BWIA and a former chairman of the T&T Airline Pilots' Association (Talpa).
