When the all-female dance group Dancaholix hosted its victory and appreciation event on December 22, it was supposed to be anything but a party. With so many young and talented exponents of that art form in attendance and the music to get them moving, it was no surprise it became a non-stop dance affair. La Casa de Ibiza, on Tragarete Road in Woodbrook, was the venue of choice for Dancaholix's victory soiree. The group clinched victory at the inaugural bmobile Dance-off Competition last month. The lovely quartet, comprising Latoya Bushe, Stashelle George, Afiya Babb and Jenniece John, impressed the judges and viewers alike with sizzlingly-classy routines.
Smack in the Yuletide season they called supporters and well-wishers together to tell them something special: Thank You! The timing could not have been better. Supporters of Dancaholix turned out in their numbers to cheer the dance princesses. From early, everyone invested with that true Trini spirit was footloose. Before long, an array of dance styles filled the room for what turned into all-out dance-o-rama, not only between crews, but individuals, too.
