?Pan­nists with reign­ing Na­tion­al Panora­ma sin­gle pan cham­pi­ons, La Hor­quet­ta (LH) Pan Groove, are cel­e­brat­ing their vic­to­ry at Sat­ur­day's se­mi-fi­nal round of the com­pe­ti­tion held out­side Pan Trin­ba­go's head­quar­ters, Vic­to­ria Park Suites, Park Street, Port-of-Spain. Ari­ma All Stars earned 257 points, play­ing Dave "Book­er" Mar­tin's Hur­ry Hur­ry Come for Cur­ry to qual­i­fy for the fi­nal, but not enough to beat LH Pan Groove which had a clear eight point-lead for its ren­di­tion of Fire Com­ing Down, com­posed by Robert Greenidge and Gre­go­ry Bal­lan­tyne with vo­cals by Su­perblue (Austin Lyons).

NL­CB San Juan East Side Sym­phomy tied with Ari­ma All Stars. The for­mer band played Ed­win Pouchet's arrange­ment of Par­ty from the song-book of The Black Stal­in (Dr Leroy Cal­liste). LH Pan Groove was the crowd favourite on the night of com­pe­ti­tion and, based on the award of 265 points, the band found favour with the pan­el of judges as well.
