?Two masked gunmen beat and tied up a sales clerk at a store in Gasparillo before robbing her of almost $25,000 worth of cash and valuables.
Police said around 2.40 pm, Donna Hill, 32, of Indian Walk, Moruga was conducting sales at SK Asgarali, located at Union Road, Gasparillo, when the assailants ran into the store. They dragged Hill into a chair and began tying her hands and legs. They then stripped her of three gold rings and two gold chains, valued over $4,000.
The thieves also stole $20,400 in cash as well as a quantity of cheques. They then fled into a waiting car. Police led by Senior Supt Denoon and including Supt Cecil Santana set up a roadblock for the assailants. An all-points bulletin was issued for the getaway car. However, it was not found. No arrests have yet been made. Investigations are continuing.
