Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley should not be us­ing Par­lia­ment as an av­enue to dis­cred­it cit­i­zens based on Row­ley’s po­lit­i­cal agen­da. This is the view of for­mer Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er, Gary Grif­fith.

It fol­lows Grif­fith’s High Court vic­to­ry on Tues­day, which grant­ed Grif­fith an in­junc­tion pre­vent­ing the Prime Min­is­ter from bring­ing the Firearm User's Li­cense Au­dit Re­port be­fore the Par­lia­ment.

Ac­cord­ing to Grif­fith, the Prime Min­is­ter is us­ing Par­lia­men­tary Priv­i­lege to cast as­per­sions, and he is chal­leng­ing Dr Row­ley to step out­side of the pro­tec­tion of Par­lia­ment.

“The Au­dit was lit­tered with lies,” Grif­fith stat­ed.  “I chal­lenge those four in­di­vid­u­als go to the po­lice sta­tion and re­port a crime, be­cause if they do, first­ly they can be charged for wast­ing po­lice time and then I would be able to sue them for every sin­gle thing that they have.”

“I am not hold­ing back the re­port.  You name man, Kei­th Row­ley?  Say what you have to say out­side the Par­lia­ment,” Grif­fith said.

The Of­fice of the At­tor­ney Gen­er­al filed an im­me­di­ate ap­peal af­ter the rul­ing, which was hand­ed down by Jus­tice Devin­dra Ram­per­sad.
