An anti-crime exercise in Tobago on Saturday led to the arrest of one man and the seizure of a gun, 17 rounds of ammunition and almost 30 grammes of marijuana.
According to a release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the raid was conducted in the Scarborough district.
Snr Supt Roberts coordinated the exercise, while Sgts Stewart and Jonas supervised.
The officers led a team from the Scarborough CID and the Divisional Task Force to a house in Douglas Trace, Hope Village, where they found one Smith & Wesson revolver, 17 rounds of .38 ammunition and 29.6 grammes of marijuana.
A man found in the house was also arrested.
In an unrelated incident, a Tunapuna man was arrested and a loaded gun seized in another raid on Saturday.
According to the TTPS, PCs Riley, Mohan and Persad received a tip-off on Saturday and stopped a white Kia vehicle along Sawmill Street, off Pasea Road, Tunapuna.
While searching the vehicle, the officers found a multi-coloured Jansport bag behind a seat in the vehicle. The bag contained a Glock pistol, with one magazine and 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The vehicle’s lone occupant was arrested.
