A Freeport man es­caped in­jury on Sun­day af­ter some­one known to him al­leged­ly opened fire on him fol­low­ing an ar­gu­ment dur­ing a lime at the vic­tim’s home.

The 34-year-old, of Nel­son Road, Freeport, had re­port­ed­ly in­vit­ed fam­i­ly and friends to a lime on Au­gust 2.

Po­lice said that at around 4 pm, he be­gan ar­gu­ing with the sus­pect, af­ter which he slapped him in the face, lead­ing to a scram­ble.

The sus­pect al­leged­ly walked out of the house and re­turned about ten min­utes lat­er with a gun, which he point­ed at the vic­tim be­fore fir­ing sev­er­al shots.

Those gath­ered sought cov­er as the sus­pect fled on foot.

The in­ci­dent was re­port­ed to po­lice who were, up to yes­ter­day, search­ing for the sus­pect.
