Assemblyman Zorisha Hackett has been temporarily assigned responsibility for the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation in the THA.
The announcement was made by the Office of the Chief Secretary on Wednesday. The appointment took effect on September 15. No reason was given for the decision.
Hackett will continue to serve as Secretary of Education, Research and Technology while carrying out the duties of the additional portfolio. The Office of the Chief Secretary stated that the assignment was made in accordance with Section 34 (1) of Act 40 of 1996.
The Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation has oversight for a wide range of matters that affect Tobago’s development and services. The Office of the Chief Secretary confirmed that the arrangement will remain in place until further notice.
Assemblyman Hackett has been serving in the Tobago House of Assembly since her election.
