As­sem­bly­man Zor­isha Hack­ett has been tem­porar­i­ly as­signed re­spon­si­bil­i­ty for the Di­vi­sion of Tourism, Cul­ture, An­tiq­ui­ties and Trans­porta­tion in the THA.

The an­nounce­ment was made by the Of­fice of the Chief Sec­re­tary on Wednes­day. The ap­point­ment took ef­fect on Sep­tem­ber 15. No rea­son was giv­en for the de­ci­sion.

Hack­ett will con­tin­ue to serve as Sec­re­tary of Ed­u­ca­tion, Re­search and Tech­nol­o­gy while car­ry­ing out the du­ties of the ad­di­tion­al port­fo­lio. The Of­fice of the Chief Sec­re­tary stat­ed that the as­sign­ment was made in ac­cor­dance with Sec­tion 34 (1) of Act 40 of 1996.

The Di­vi­sion of Tourism, Cul­ture, An­tiq­ui­ties and Trans­porta­tion has over­sight for a wide range of mat­ters that af­fect To­ba­go’s de­vel­op­ment and ser­vices. The Of­fice of the Chief Sec­re­tary con­firmed that the arrange­ment will re­main in place un­til fur­ther no­tice.

As­sem­bly­man Hack­ett has been serv­ing in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly since her elec­tion.
