Pupils and students from several schools brought the Carnival feeling to the steps of the Ministry of Education yesterday, when the ministry hosted its Carnival on the Pavers concert series.
The event, held at the ministry’s head office on St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain, featured performances and displays of various art forms such as soca, chutney, tassa, steelband and traditional mas by the pupils and students.
Among the schools participating were St James Secondary (pan), Malick Secondary School (carnival characters) and Valencia RC Government Primary School, among others.
Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, who regularly attends the concerts, was there and was also in the thick of things as the revelry took place.
