Pupils and stu­dents from sev­er­al schools brought the Car­ni­val feel­ing to the steps of the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion yes­ter­day, when the min­istry host­ed its Car­ni­val on the Pavers con­cert se­ries.

The event, held at the min­istry’s head of­fice on St Vin­cent Street, Port-of-Spain, fea­tured per­for­mances and dis­plays of var­i­ous art forms such as so­ca, chut­ney, tas­sa, steel­band and tra­di­tion­al mas by the pupils and stu­dents.

Among the schools par­tic­i­pat­ing were St James Sec­ondary (pan), Mal­ick Sec­ondary School (car­ni­val char­ac­ters) and Va­len­cia RC Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry School, among oth­ers.

Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion Dr Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly, who reg­u­lar­ly at­tends the con­certs, was there and was al­so in the thick of things as the rev­el­ry took place.
