A Haz­ardous Seas Alert will take ef­fect for Trinidad and To­ba­go from Dec 9th at 5:00 AM to Dec 19th at 12:00 PM.

Ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease from the Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TTMS), long pe­ri­od, high en­er­gy swells have been pro­duc­ing large break­ers in ex­cess of 3 me­tres along nearshore, north-ex­posed coast­lines of Trinidad and To­ba­go.

Oc­ca­sion­al­ly chop­py con­di­tions are al­so ex­pect­ed to con­tin­ue in the Gulf of Paria with a short pe­ri­od of im­prove­ment over the week­end.

Con­di­tions will be am­pli­fied dur­ing high tides. Like­ly im­pacts in­clude: high­er than nor­mal surf, dan­ger­ous con­di­tions for swim­ming and for small craft op­er­a­tions near af­fect­ed coast­lines.
