A Hazardous Seas Alert will take effect for Trinidad and Tobago from Dec 9th at 5:00 AM to Dec 19th at 12:00 PM.
According to a press release from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), long period, high energy swells have been producing large breakers in excess of 3 metres along nearshore, north-exposed coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago.
Occasionally choppy conditions are also expected to continue in the Gulf of Paria with a short period of improvement over the weekend.
Conditions will be amplified during high tides. Likely impacts include: higher than normal surf, dangerous conditions for swimming and for small craft operations near affected coastlines.
