The leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), Andrew Holness, will be sworn in next week for his third term in office as Prime Minister of Jamaica.
He will be sworn in by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen during a ceremony at King’s House – the official residence of the Governor General – at 4 p.m.( local time)
During the ceremony, Holness will take the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office and will be presented with his instrument of appointment by the Governor General.
Holness and Sir Patrick met on Wednesday, after the Electoral Office of Jamaica formally advised the Governor General on Tuesday that the Jamaica Labour Party won the September 3 general election.
The JLP secured 35 seats to the People’s National Party’s 28 seats.
