A house was de­stroyed by fire in Moru­ga last night.

Po­lice said a vil­lager was at home around 8.30 pm when she heard a loud noise.

She then saw a wash­ing ma­chine at the back of her neigh­bour's house at Fifth Com­pa­ny Vil­lage, on fire.

She raised an alarm but the fire quick­ly spread to the house. The house which was owned by Ke­ston Joshua was com­plete­ly de­stroyed.

Po­lice said the house had no elec­tric­i­ty and pipe borne wa­ter.

Fire of­fi­cers of the Mon Re­pos and Princes Town Fire Sa­tions re­spond­ed.

The cause of the fire is still be­ing in­ves­ti­gat­ed. PC Ochoa is in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
