Huawei Technologies T&T has announced the appointment of Mr. Jeff Jin as the Chief Executive Officer for its operations in Trinidad and Tobago, with immediate effect.
Jin takes over the job of spearheading the Huawei T&T team with responsibility for overseeing strategic growth, development and overall operations for all of Trinidad and Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean, with a range of focus including the Huawei network, enterprise and device business groups.
At 41 years old, with 16 years of a progressive track-record, Mr. Jin—armed with his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and his Master’s in Mechanical Design—has a wideranging Huawei experience in the Asia Pacific region, Europe and Central America with international experience in Project Management, Business Development, Marketing and Sales.
His last posts include: CEO of the Huawei El Salvador Office, Vice President of Sales in Sweden, and Business Development Manager in Singapore.
His initial comments upon taking up his post in Port of Spain explain him well: “I look forward to working with the T&T Government, operators and local partners to bring digital services to every person, home and organization to achieve and maintain a fully connected Trinidad and Tobago. As a global leader and enabler of ICT innovation, we at Huawei are focused on collaborations that sustain growth and development wherever we operate.”
He is particularly driven by the vision of a Huawei initiative titled: ‘A Better Connected, Smart Trinidad and Tobago’.
An avid sports aficionado, Mr. Jin fills his spare time with active participation in soccer, golf and tennis, as he sees the Huawei presence going beyond the digital business world: “I’m excited to build on the strategic partnerships we have already established in T&T, and to continue growing our corporate social responsibility footprint here, focusing on developing youth and ICT skills, as well as talent in the local human resource market to deepen and enhance the local and Regional ICT sector.”
As CEO, Jin plans to continue the successful Huawei ‘Seeds for the Future’ Training Program, and also to oversee the start-up of an Internship venture at the local office.
He pointed to the history of Huawei T&T, noting that since the establishment of its offices in Port of Spain in 2006, the Company has successfully pursued its objectives of: training and ICT skills enhancement, developing strategic partnerships for upgrading of the local mobile and fixed networks, and wide dissemination of Huawei’s Smart Devices.
