The local arm of Huawei, a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, has joined relief efforts following last weekend's floods.
On Friday Huawei T&T Limited recognised that, following the vast flooding in several areas, there were officers out on the front lines helping others in their communities with relief efforts, while their own homes and families were affected by flooding.
The management and staff of Huawei T&T rallied to collect a variety of items to donate to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service.
"On hand from the T&T Prisons Service to receive the items were Dennis Pulchan, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, and Hayden Forde, Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, who thanked Huawei for its contribution to the officers," Huawei said.
The company added that it hopes the donation can help alleviate the hardship of the officers who are doing yeoman service to provide relief to communities in Trinidad and Tobago.
