Hu­man re­mains found on land off Ma­hadeo Street in Fe­lic­i­ty, Ch­agua­nas, yes­ter­day have not yet been iden­ti­fied.

ASP Dipc­hand of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion said a skull and part of a leg were dis­cov­ered al­most two kilo­me­tres west of the Ca­can­dee Main Road. No ID was found near the re­mains, and in­ves­ti­ga­tors were un­able to de­ter­mine whether the vic­tim was male or fe­male. 

Ch­agua­nas Po­lice and Homi­cide South are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions. 

Sun­dar Jokoo, a lo­cal gov­ern­ment rep­re­sen­ta­tive in the Ch­agua­nas Bor­ough Cor­po­ra­tion and spokesman for the Fe­lic­i­ty Com­mu­ni­ty Pa­trol, said the re­mains were found on agri­cul­tur­al land that bor­ders the Ca­roni swamp. 

“That area is dark at night, and crim­i­nals can dump bod­ies and hide con­tra­band in this area. We need more po­lice pa­trols. We at the com­mu­ni­ty lev­el pa­trol the vil­lage; we have lim­it­ed re­sources to go be­yond that,” he said.

“The vil­lagers are plead­ing with the Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice to send more re­sources in­to the area. There is an in­flux of peo­ple from out­side the com­mu­ni­ty who are rent­ing apart­ments here, and we don’t know their mo­tives.”
