Early morning joggers around the Queen's Park Savannah in Port- of-Spain discovered the lifeless body of a man lying on the grass.
Upon checking they discovered that the man was not responding to their calls nor was he breathing.
Police officers were called on the scene shortly after 6 am where they observed several empty bottles near the body.
It is believed that the man may have consumed its contents.
Police officers did not reveal the man's names but said he lived in Belmont.
The body was sent to the Forensic Science Centre in St James pending an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.
