Defence attorney Anton Grantum, was granted $90,000 bail yesterday after he appeared in court charged with possession of a gun and ammunition.
Grantum, who was represented by Taradath Singh, was arrested on Saturday during an anti-crime exercise.
Grantum, 31, appeared virtually before charged with two counts of possession of ammunition and one count of possession of a firearm.
Grantum, 31, appeared virtually before Chaguanas Magistrate Marissa Gomez, and was not called on to plead.
As part of his bail condition of his bail, Grantum was ordered to report to the Chaguanas Police Station on the first Saturday of each month. He will re-appear in court on November 4.
It is alleged that 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition were allegedly found at Grantum’s Julie Mango Drive, Woodford Gardens home.
Police reportedly found the ammunition inside a transparent bag wrapped within a black plastic bag. The officers then searched his Ramsaran Street, Chaguanas, law office and reportedly found a black Sig Sauer P290 pistol with a fitted magazine containing 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The weapon was allegedly found hidden inside a compartment of a desk. —Jensen La Vende
