A 30-year man charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm appeared before Magistrate Avion Gill at the Arima Magistrate's Court and was granted bail in the sum of $40,000, with a surety.

A 30-year man was granted bail in the sum of $40,000, with a surety when he appeared before Magistrate Avion Gill at the Arima Magistrates’ Court on the 24th November 2022 charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
As part of the bail condition, the accused was ordered not to communicate with the victim.
He is expected to reappear in Court on 16th December 2022. Police reports stated that on the 22nd November, a woman was asleep at her home when she was allegedly awoken by her common-law husband, and an argument ensued. During the argument, the man allegedly kicked and cuffed the woman.
The incident was reported to the Maloney Police Station, Gender-Based Violence Unit (GBVU), and investigations were conducted. As a result of the investigations, the suspect was arrested and subsequently charged on the 23rd November by WPC Borrel Weeks.
The investigation was supervised by W/Superintendent of Police, Claire Guy-Alleyne, W/ ASP Bridglal, Insp Stanley and W/Sgt. Edwards(Ag).
