A man be­lieved to be home­less is this coun­try's lat­est road fa­tal­i­ty af­ter he was knocked down by a dri­ver in Ch­agua­nas ear­ly on Wednes­day morn­ing. 

Po­lice said the man who was iden­ti­fied on­ly as "Broko" was knocked down by the dri­ver of a beige Toy­ota Hilux on the Sir Solomon Ho­choy High­way, near a Vedic Pri­ma­ry School, af­ter the Ch­agua­nas Over­pass around 5.45 am. 

The 76-year-old dri­ver, re­port­ed that he heard a loud noise but did not see any­thing un­usu­al. 

The dri­ver vis­it­ed the Freeport Po­lice Sta­tion and re­port­ed the in­ci­dent, as of­fi­cers of the Freeport High­way Pa­trol vis­it­ed the area and found the man ly­ing on the cen­tre lane. 

Ch­agua­nas po­lice and crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors al­so vis­it­ed the area with a dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer who de­clared the man dead. 

The body was tak­en to the Mt Hope Hos­pi­tal's mor­tu­ary pend­ing the com­ple­tion of an au­top­sy.
