A Longdenville man has been killed while two people have been hospitalised after a shooting in the area on Saturday.
Jermain Henry, 35, of Penco Street, Longdenville, was a short distance away from his home with a group of friends at Chattergoon Supermarket, when their gathering ended violently at around 11.40 pm.
According to police reports, a black Nissan Note pulled alongside the group and four men, all armed with guns, emerged from the car and opened fire.
Henry and two women—Catrina Jordon, 19, of Longdenville and Monifa Richman, of Laventille, were shot during the attack.
The gunmen returned to the car and fled while the wounded trio lay on the roadway.
An ambulance was called and all three were taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility.
However, Henry died while being treated shortly after midnight.
His death took the murder toll for the year so far to 48.
