A man who escaped a previous attempt on his life was gunned down on Sunday evening.
Police said Roland “Grover” Phillip, 33, was shot and killed at Sunshine Avenue, San Juan, around 6 pm.
Residents said they heard gunshots but did not immediately come outside. A little while later they discovered Phillip bleeding from gunshot wounds about the body. He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said Phillip had been shot at last month but escaped then with a minor flesh wound.
Phillip was one of three men killed between Saturday night and Sunday evening.
Hours earlier at 11 am, Andy “Santa” Jack, 31, of Reid Lane, D’Abadie, was outside his home when a vehicle pulled up next to him. The front seat passenger lowered his window and shot Jack several times before the driver drove away.
Jack was taken to the Arima District Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, police also recovered the burnt remains of a man in Sangre Grande they believe to be Noel Carrington.
Police said a resident of the area discovered Carrington’s charred body in bushes at the side of Non-Pariel Road, North Oropouche, Sangre Grande, around 9.30 am. His body was found burnt in a heap of tyres with the hands missing.
