The TTPS charged two men af­ter one of them al­leged­ly at­tempt­ed to bribe a po­lice of­fi­cer in Port-of-Spain yes­ter­day.

The TTPS says of­fi­cers were on foot pa­trol along Char­lotte Street around noon when they saw a car il­le­gal­ly parked on the cor­ner of Prince Street.

They asked the dri­ver to pro­duce his li­cence and in­sur­ance.

The of­fi­cers ob­served the pho­to was dif­fer­ent from the per­son sit­ting in front of them.

The pas­sen­ger in the ve­hi­cle al­so pro­duced a sus­pect­ed fraud­u­lent dri­ver’s li­cence.

When of­fi­cers told the dri­ver that they be­lieved the doc­u­ment to be fraud­u­lent, he al­leged­ly reached in­to the pock­et of the mid­dle arm­rest and al­leged­ly at­tempt­ed to hand one of the of­fi­cers a quan­ti­ty of cash.

He al­so al­leged­ly said, ‘Of­fi­cer, No Sta­tion, Take Mon­ey’.

The man was in­formed he was com­mit­ting a crime. Both men were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter.
