Sascha Wilson
A Princes Town man who was tricked into believing police officers were banging on his door was robbed of $50,000 early this morning.
Initial reports stated that around 1:30 am, the 52-year-old man, a PH driver, was awoken by banging on the front door at his Niamath Trace, Iere village home.
He heard male voices shouting, "police!"
Thinking they were genuine police officers, he opened the door. Instead, he was confronted by four bandits dressed in dark-colored clothing. They robbed him of $50,000, a $1,500 cellphone and ten gold rings.
PC Harripersad is investigating.
