A 33-year-old man was shot and killed in Marabella on Monday morning.
Police said Kreston Phillips of Dolly Street, Battoo Boulevard and Union Road, Marabella, was shot around 8 am along Manohar Street. Officers found Phillips lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he died around 8.50 am.
Investigators said Phillips had been walking along Industry Lane before turning onto Manohar Street when a gold-coloured vehicle drove past him, stopped a short distance away, and gunshots were fired from the vehicle. The car then drove off.
Twenty-nine spent 9mm shell casings were recovered at the scene.
Police also retrieved CCTV footage from the area.
During the shooting, a passing vehicle was struck by gunfire.
The driver later reported the damage at the Marabella Police Station. Three projectiles were recovered from that vehicle.
The motive for the killing has not yet been established.
